29+ Ford Ranger Jerks When Accelerating Pictures. While driving above 48mph in highest gear if you let up on accelerator and start to coast then begin to accelerate again the truck jerks hard/thunks and you can almost hear it. Also has jerked and stalled on me while on the freeway doing 65 mph.
Recently replaced mass airflow sensor coolant temp sensor to computer and throttle position sensor.
The only way to stop the hesitation is by forcing it to accelerate (by stepping on the gas pedal) until the rpm increases, then release gas. My 1991 ford ranger jerks at low rpm acceleration and requires higher rpms between shifts. Ac cuts off when accelerating. It's quite annoying, i'll be driving up a slight hill and it will upshift and start rumbling like it doesn't have power (because it's trying to climb a hill in fifth gear lol).
